Marksmanship is running off Perception not dex, as a result Trick Shooter and Shot to the Heart are now Perception knacks.

As the wording of Trick Shooter is horribly ambivilant I rule it only adds to Marksmanship.

Wirlwind Shield is now the prerequisite knack for Untouchable Opponent rather than it being the other way around

As the Jotunblud pantheon specific purview is toilets you can choose to replace it with the Scire purview from Companion p68

Any relic that you has a dot that allows you to summon follower birthrights now also gives you access to the Civitas purview from Companion p245

The knack Hear Prayers can only be taken if you are a god

The knack Unusal Alteration is banned for being really janky and not properly balanced

The boon bonus point cost is per dot of the boon (this actually isn’t a house rule but it’s hidden so well in the book that it’s worth mentioning)

As Knacks are kind of ridiculously abusable given their price the XP cost to by a new knack is now 5 x (the number of knacks you have for that epic attribute); rather than being a flat cost of 5. You still get a free knack when you buy up an epic attribute.

The cost to buy a Knack with bonus points scales by the same multiplier; ie 3 x (the number of knacks you have for that epic attribute)

If you have 5 dots in a craft skill then you can buy the ability Forge Birthright for 15xp. If you have this ability you can purchase arete in any craft skill you have 5 ranks in even if you aren’t greek. (You cannot purchase arete in any other skill unless you are greek)

The Knack Unimpeachable Reference now as Benefit of the doubt as a pre req.

Shields Clarification:
All shields have a DV Bonus value, which is a function of the mobile cover bonus they provide you, a standard shield provides a DV Bonus of +1 as it provides 30% cover; certain shields that are significantly larger can provide greater DV Bonus (Kite Shields give a +2, Tower Shields give a +3) but they can impose a mobility bonus due to their unwieldy size.

All Shields have a defense stat that is equal to their DV Bonus.

A shield’s DV Bonus adds on to every DV the scion has as long as they are wielding the shield at the time.

A scion may be denied their shield’s DV Bonus if they are attacked from an angle that the shield would not cover by a foe they are unaware of.

A scion may choose not to apply their shield’s DV Bonus to one or more of their DVs if they so wish.

The shield’s Defense score is a separate stat from it’s DV Bonus, although its base value is derived from the DV Bonus.

Anything that ups a shield’s DV Bonus will cause a corresponding increase in it’s Defense but the reverse is not also true; ie knacks or boons that increase a weapon’s defense score do not cause a corresponding increase to the shield’s base DV Bonus

Knacks or boons that cause an increase in defense can be used on shields.
In the case of calculating a shield’s Parry DV, because defense and DV Bonus are different stats, that can hold different values, and are applied at different stages of the calculation of DV both can be applied (ie practically speaking shields give a net boost to your basic parry DV of [DV Bonus x 1.5]) HOWEVER a shield’s Parry DV may only be used under certain circumstances, to whit:
1) The character in question is not currently wielding a weapon other than the shield at the time, if the character is wielding a weapon use the Parry DV of that weapon with only the DV bonus from the shield. If in this situation a character’s Unarmed Parry DV (including the shield’s DV Bonus) would be greater than the Parry of the shield they may choose to use it instead.
2) If a character is focused exclusively on defense at the time the attack against them transpires, ie they are making a guard action on that tick
Should it become applicable the mathematical order in which a DV against any particular attack is calculated is as follows:

Base DV (Dodge or Parry[weapon]) + Bonuses from Epic Dex + Bonuses from knacks or Boons + Misc environmental/circumstantial Bonuses from sources other than cover – Penalties from ongoing effects/boons/knacks – Environmental Penalties

At this stage:
IF: DV is now negative set to 0

IF: DV is not applicable to attack attempting to be resisted set to 0

+ Bonuses from cover/shield. (If receiving multiple cover/shield bonuses use only highest one)
